At that trial, prosecutor Chris Johnson and his only witness, VPD Detective Kyle Dent deliberately misrepresented the statements I had made in my interrogation, but Rideout ignored that. I caught Dent lying on the witness stand a couple of times, but Rideout said he found Dent to be "reliable and credible". Johnson had withheld all of the disclosure material until three days before the trial and didn't inform me of his witness list until the morning of the trial, but Rideout said I should have raised those issues prior to the trial (even though I tried, by requesting a pretrial conference, but Johnson refused to schedule a pretrial conference).
