Ryan Paschke - Jail Officer, MCSO

Ryan Paschke's involvement in my cases was minimal but very significant.

Paschke is the one who entered my place of birth as Canada, during my booking/intake at the Maricopa County Jail on 2007-07-24 MCSO Booking record, 2007-09-23. That supposed ICE hold resulted in the MCSO refusing to allow me to post my bond, then continuing to hold me for an additional four days, then handed over to ICE. That is how ICE got involved and how I ended up in ICE custody. Good job, Paschke, you jackass!

On 2007-07-24, while being booked into the county jail, Paschke asked me where I was born. I asked him how that's relevant to anything. He told me I'm required to answer his questions. I told him I'm not required to answer any questions. I declined to answer. Paschke then asked me what country I'm a citizen of. Again, I declined to answer because I didn't see how it was relevant to being booked into the jail. Paschke seemed annoyed by my refusal to answer his questions.

He then entered my place of birth and citizenship into the MCSO's internal system as "Canada", and he proceeded to place an "MCSO/ICE Hold" on me. That supposed "hold" prevented me from being able to bond out for the next two months.

Later, when I was prosecuted for allegations of perjury and false claim of US citizenship, Paschke was called as a witness for the prosecution. He testified that during my booking into the county jail, I had told him I was born in Canada and was a Canadian citizen.
