Myra Pastyr-Lupul - Case Management Officer, Global Affairs Canada

At time of involvement:
Canadian Consular Officer
550 S Hope St, 9th Floor
Los Angeles, CA 90071

Myra Pastyr-Lupul was a Consular Officer with the Canadian Consulate in Los Angeles while I was being detained by ICE in 2008.

Pastyr-Lupul's direct involvement in my cases was minimal. In April 2008, my ICE Deportation Officer Keith Acosta interacted with her briefly. He submitted a request to the consulate to verify whether the Ricky Riess passport was valid. Pastyr-Lupul then forwarded a message to the Passport Program Criminal Investigations department within Passport Canada, alerting them of the situation and requesting their assistance Message to Passport Canada, 2008-04-15.

In a follow-up email to Passport Canada, Pastyr-Lupul said, "The ICE officer ... who called me wanted me to verify that he [Fox/Riess] was issued the Canadian passport, thus that he is a Canadian citizen" Message to Passport Canada, 2008-04-16. And so, once again we see that the people who work in the Canadian government are morons who can't tell the difference between correlation and causation. Pastyr-Lupul says if I was issued a Canadian passport then I am a Canadian citizen. No! What if the passport was issued under false pretenses (fraud), or Passport Canada made a mistake?

There is truly an abundance of idiocy within the Canadian government.
